eBay Just Declared War on Amazon

Meet 'price match guarantee.' Then meet 'more $$$ in bank.'

June 21, 2017 9:00 am EDT

Maybe Amazon isn’t the one store to rule us all.

Today, eBay announced a Price Match Guarantee program on over 50,000 items, assuring the item will either be the best deal customers can find online … or they’ll match the lower price of a competitor.

As of now, those competitors include Amazon, Best Buy, Jet, Home Depot, Sears, Target, Walmart and Wayfair.

If you find a lower price, eBay will verify it and reimburse you the difference via a coupon that can be used toward the item in question. However, those coupons expire in 24 hours, and do not take into account taxes or shipping fees.

This comes on the heels of news that later this year, eBay will also introduce Guaranteed Delivery for twenty million items, offering three-days-or-less shipping guarantees.

You can find the Price Match Guarantee deals here. It’s a decent list: Today alone, there are Xbox One bundles, polo shirts, Lenovo laptops and High Sierra backpacks.
