A Noma Chef Is Bringing Five-Star Dining to Mt. Everest

Put down the trail mix. We found something better.

There’s nothing worse than making a reservation for a stellar meal, trekking to the restaurant and being seated at a great table, only to realize that you haven’t really worked up an appetite.

For diners who travel to former Noma chef James Sharma’s pop-up, that won’t be an issue.

As part of his One Star House Party project (goal: open 20 pop-up restaurants in 20 countries in 20 months), Sharman will soon be cooking up a great meal for 15 lucky guests … on Mount Everest.

The meal will be served after a two-week trek base camp, and while we don’t know what will be on the menu, you can bet your ice-glazed ass the restuarant will offer great views.

Taking place from December 9th-23rd, the One Star experience includes two-night hotel accommodations in Kathmandu, stays in guest houses on the way to base camp, a porter, a down jacket and a sleeping bag.

If you’re interested in going, reservations can be made here by November 29th. The $1,050 price tag includes Sharman’s meal, but won’t cover the cost of food along the way.

Pack some trail mix.
