Things a gentleman always does at the gym: spots, re-racks and wipes down a machine after use.

Things he never does at the gym: monopolizes machines, hits on women or audibly grunts.

This isn’t Fury Road; there are rules. You should know them.

You should also know dress codes, best practices and the odd pro tip. All of which you’ll find in Gent’s Condition, a four-part fitness guide made in tandem with our friends at Samsung.

Each edition will focus on one major muscle group.

Today: it’s time to bare arms. The fleshy kind. Make ’em a pair you’re proud of.

GET THIS GADGET

With a simple turn of the dial, the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbells adjust resistance from 5-52.5 lbs, replacing 15 sets of weights. Save space and money by ditching the gym: these can be used for total body exercises like lunges in addition to arm-specific curls and raises.

For the classic physiques, “like Arnold Schwarzenegger,” you should rely on classic exercises, according to body artist Calum Von Moger. This arm workout is a doozy, but it’s gonna make you broad as a barn after a few months of repetition.

THIS IS THE FUTURE OF RETAIL

“A scene from TRON.” “The playground of the future.” “An experiential wonderland.” Those are but three of the phrases our NY editor once used to describe 837, a Meatpacking District experiment in retail hosted by our friends at Samsung. Inside: virtual reality roller coasters, a fully-loaded recording studio, a sci-fi kitchen and a three-story screen made of 96 55-inch screens. The kicker: nothing is for sale.

EAT THIS

After blasting biceps, opt for a healthy, protein-packed recipe like this Smoked Veggie Stuffed Flank Steak from Fit Men Cook.

Ingredients:

1.75lb raw flank steak, trimmed with no large pieces of visible fat

Veggie stuffing:

  • 2 cups chopped greens (kale or spinach)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 cup pico de gallo (tomato, onion, cilantro, lime juice, jalapeño)
  • 1/2 cup feta or goat cheese crumble

Steps:

Set grill or oven to 275 F.

In a bowl, mix together the ingredients for the stuffing. Feel free to make this dish your own by using your favorite veggies, such as zucchini/squash, cabbage and even mushrooms. Instead of pico de gallo, try sun-dried tomatoes to completely change the flavors of this dish.

Make the flank steak thinner by cutting it in half so that it’s easier to roll and stuff. If necessary, use a food mallet to pound the flank steak and thin it out even more. Stuff the flank steak with the veggie mixture, then roll it up. If you’re using a grill, place the flank on the grill with the flap (i.e., open end) facing down, so that the steak bakes closed. If you’re using an oven, place the flank on a baking sheet with the flap facing down as well.

Grill, smoke or bake for about 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Enjoy with roasted red potatoes (seasoned with rosemary, garlic, sea salt and pepper).
