No, not that President that loves to vacation.
Former President Richard Nixon’s Spanish Colonial mansion in San Clemente, California, dubbed the “Western White House,” is back on the market once again.
The sprawling home can be yours for the tiny sum of only $57.5 million — down nearly $7 million from last year’s asking price and a 23 percent discount from its original price tag of $75 million four years ago, Fortune reported.
Nixon first bought the 9,000-square-foot sprawling estate in 1969 and named it La Casa Pacifica. Built in 1926, it has seven bedrooms and a 3,000-square-foot poolside pavilion with a two-bedroom guest house. The Nixon’s hosted several heads of state while in power, like secretary-general of the Soviet Communist party, Leonid Brezhnev.
Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, and, before Nixon’s ownership, Franklin D. Roosevelt, all reportedly partied at the West Coast White House, too. If you think you can afford it, you’ll be able to show it off to your friends and be like, “Where you’re sitting is where Leonid Brezhnev and Nixon signed the Soviet-American communique in 1973.” The house is also rumored to be the place where Nixon wrote his post-Presidency memoirs.
