Design Firm Creates Mobile Drone Hotel Concept

Talk about island-hopping. The Toronto branch of global architecture and design firm HOK recently unveiled a radical new concept that could take the hospitality industry by storm someday. As its entry for the Radical Innovation Award 2016 competition, HOK came up with Driftscape, a mobile, self-sustaining hotel concept that allows guests to pilot their own rooms from hot-spot to hot-spot on two- to three-day excursions. Each Driftcraft room would use drone technology to take flight, providing its single occupant with 360-degree views and the flexibility of exploring just about anywhere within reach of the desired destination.
