Since Elliot’s rookie deal was under contract through 2020, the new deal will keep him in Dallas through the 2026 season should he remain in the NFL that long.
In both annual value and guaranteed money, the deal tops the four-year, $57.5 million contract that Todd Gurley reached with the Los Angeles Rams last July. Gurley only received $22 million guaranteed in his extension.

Now that he is signed and back with the team, it seems likely Elliot will assume a full workload when the Cowboys host the New York Giants on Sunday.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said as much when he discussed the situation earlier this week.
“Zeke is as capable as anybody I know,” Garrett said. “He’s an experienced player, he’s been a really good player for us, he knows our system of football. I don’t think they’ll be a lot of learning there. He’s a smart guy, an instinctive guy. But again, that’s a hypothetical”
In 15 regular-season games last year, Elliot rushed for over 1,400 yards and scored nine touchdowns.
The two-time Pro Bowler turned 24 in July.
