Free agent Antonio Brown has yet to meet with investigators from the NFL about sexual assault and rape allegations against him which emerged in a civil lawsuit following Week 1 of the season.

Brown, who was on the Patriots at the time, played during Week 2 of the season and caught a touchdown pass but was cut by New England prior to Week 3 after he allegedly threatened one of his accusers via text.

A source told Yahoo that Brown is “well aware” that league officials want to meet with him but he still has not made himself available to them. As it stands, the league’s probe into the unsigned wideout will therefore remain open “indefinitely.”

It’s an interesting situation as the league has no leverage to compel Brown to meet with investigators as he is not currently on an NFL roster.

“For now, the status of the league’s investigation appears to have left Brown in a state of limbo with any teams that have interest in signing him,” according to Yahoo. “If teams require Brown to be free from investigation to consider signing him, the league’s investigation must come to a conclusion. However, the league’s investigation apparently won’t conclude without Brown cooperating — and Brown can’t be forced to cooperate without signing with another NFL team.”

Brown, who will likely soon be trying to get back millions in lost salary in bonuses from the Raiders and Patriots, is currently taking online classes at Central Michigan University.

His Technical Writing class in CMU’s English department seems to be going well.
