ESPN and longtime radio host and TV personality Dan Le Batard announced earlier this week they have agreed to mutually part ways early next year.
Le Batard, who had many political disagreements with the network over the years and was also “blindsided” by the news his producer Chris Cote was one of the 300 people ESPN laid off last month, will do his last show on January 4.
“Gracias to ESPN for unleashing Papi and Stugotz upon an unsuspecting America, and for lending its substantive credibility to our careening clown car,” Le Batard said. “Can’t believe Stugotz finally achieved his dream of becoming a high-priced free agent … To our loyal army of concerned fans, and to everyone who walked along and played an instrument in our Marching Band to Nowhere, know that it is a very exciting time for us, not a sad one. And that you’ll be hearing our laughter again soon enough.”
Though The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz will no longer exist on ESPN Radio, Highly Questionable will still be televised on ESPN, albeit with a team of contributing hosts including Elle Duncan, Domonique Foxworth, Israel Gutierrez, Bomani Jones, Mina Kimes, Katie Nolan, Sarah Spain, Pablo Torre and Clinton Yates.
Greeny, featuring longtime ESPN radio and TV personality Mike Greenberg, will fill the time slot The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz now occupies.
