Ivanka Trump Doesn’t Think Americans Want Guaranteed Minimum Wage: Report
The first daughter and Presidential advisor believes people want to "work for what they get."
Ivanka Trump is not convinced that most Americans want the living-wage jobs Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is promoting in the Green New Deal.
Trump was asked in a Fox News interview what she would say to someone who is intrigued by the Green New Deal’s stipulation of a living wage and job guarantee.
“I don’t think most Americans, in their heart, want to be given something,” Trump, whose wealth and jobs, as Jezebel noted — both past and present — can be attributed to her father, said.
“I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around this country over the last four years,” she continued. “People want to work for what they get. So, I think that this idea of a guaranteed minimum is not something most people want. They want the ability to be able to secure a job. They want the ability to live in a country where’s there’s the potential for upward mobility.”
Ivanka Trump is of course the very first name that comes to mind when you try and think of prominent people who have ‘worked for what they got’ in life. https://t.co/AF3R54PwQy

Nearly 80% of American workers have said they live paycheck to paycheck in no small part because they aren’t paid a living wage.
