Summer blockbuster season is upon us, and as one might expect, that means time-travel, aliens and plenty of heavy artillery — only this time, they’re all in one movie. We’ve finally got a full trailer for Amazon’s big action/sci-fi flick The Tomorrow War, and it manages to cram in everything you could want out of the genre.

The film, directed by Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie), stars Chris Pratt as Dan Forester, a teacher with military experience who gets drafted into a war with an alien species 30 years in the future. Yes, you read that correctly. In the trailer, we see the present-day World Cup interrupted by a group of soldiers from 2051 who have time-traveled to recruit their fellow human beings to help them fight a war against aliens. If those from 2021 who travel to the future to help battle the aliens aren’t successful, the human race will be wiped out in 11 months.

In addition to Pratt, The Tomorrow War‘s got a surprisingly stacked cast that includes J.K. Simmons, Yvonne Strahovski and Sam Richardson (best known, perhaps, as the lovable Richard Splett on Veep). They’re also joined by GLOW‘s Betty Gilpin, Edwin Hodge, Jasmine Mathews, Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Keith Powers.

The Tomorrow War will be released on Amazon Prime Video on July 2. Check out the full trailer below.
