The Tiger King’s legal team is reportedly en route to D.C. in the hopes of winning Joe Exotic an eleventh-hour pardon. Lawyers for the Tiger King star, who is currently serving time for a failed murder-for-hire plot, told TMZ they’re heading to the capital for a “high level” meeting in January.

The Netflix star’s lawyers said they’ll be going to D.C. January 6 to show their support at an upcoming Trump rally, with the hope of convincing the president to grant the Netflix star a last-minute pardon before leaving office.

“President Trump knows that Team Tiger will be on the ground in Washington, DC to support him on this historic day,” lead lawyer Eric Love said in a video shared with TMZ. Love also announced the legal team would be traveling to D.C. in a private jet called “The Joe Exotic Express,” which is apparently emblazoned with the face of its namesake. According to Love, this terrifying aircraft will “fly the nation’s airspace requesting President Trump to grant the pardon to an innocent man, Joe Exotic.”

For those of you who have either just awoken from a year-long coma or have mercifully blocked out the earliest months of the pandemic, “innocent man” Joe Exotic — real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage — is one year into a 22-year prison sentence for attempting to hire a hitman to kill rival big cat zookeeper Carole Baskin. The Netflix star and inmate has been pushing for a pardon for months, even seeking help from megastar/prison reform activist Kim Kardashian to secure a presidential pardon.

As for Donald Trump, the president has previously said he will “take a look” at Joe Exotic’s pardon request.
