For many city dwellers with the means to do so, living in a condo or co-op can strike the ideal balance between owning a home and staying in a location that they like. There’s only one problem: what happens if you begin feuding with a neighbor? There’s been a whole prestige television series about this, after all — and while the saga that actor Justin Theroux has been enmeshed in for the last few years doesn’t involve anything that veers into true-crime territory, it has offered plenty of outside observers a lot to ponder.
Now, as Curbed reports, the conflict between Theroux and his neighbor Norman Resnicow may have reached its conclusion. The article points to a lawsuit filed by the co-op seeking to remove Resnicow from the building following the end of his lease.
The aforementioned conflict has stretched on for the last five years. Its origins are in 2017, when Theroux began renovations of his apartment and Resnicow — who lived below him — complained about the noise. According to a lawsuit filed by Theroux, this led to Resnicow harassing him in various ways, including killing some ivy that grew on a shared patio.
Last year, Resnicow sued the co-op, seeking to have its board dissolved. With the latest lawsuit, it certainly seems as though the situation is nearing its end — but given that this has already dragged on for several years, we wouldn’t be surprised if the high-profile spat continues for a little longer.
