NFL Competitor Reveals Names and Logos of First 4 Teams

The Alliance of American Football plans to begin play on February 9.

The Alliance of American Football has revealed names and logos for four of its eight teams.

The new league, which is hoping to be an alternative to the NFL and will debut with a 10-week schedule, announced the first four team names are the Memphis Express, the Orlando Apollos, the Atlanta Legends, and Birmingham Iron.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Mike Singletary will coach Memphis, ex- Vikings head coach Brad Childress will coach Atlanta, Tim Lewis will lead Birmingham and former college and NFL coach Steve Spurrier will head the Orlando franchise.

The remaining four teams in the AAF will be located in Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, and San Diego. Their team names and logos will be revealed on September 25.

The AAF plans to begin play on February 9 after the NFL’s Super Bowl is completed.
