The new trailer for Venom shows of much more of Tom Hardy’s take on the Marvel anti-hero, and it definitely shows off his dark side.
Hardy appeared at San Diego Comic Con earlier this month to debut new footage. He said that his 2015 film Legend, in which he played twin brothers, help him with his performance in Venom, as he treated Eddie Brock and Venom as two different characters. Hardy also said that he took the role because of his son, who is a fan of the character. Hardy wanted to do something his young boy could watch, noting that his characters are often aggressive or violent.
“So I did something where I bite people’s heads off,” Hardy joked, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Venom also stars Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate and Scott Haze. You can check it out in theaters Oct. 5 but for now, watch the trailer below.
