Bill Murray defended Dustin Hoffman against several sexual assault and harassment allegations while appearing on stage at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. On the same stage last December, John Oliver repeatedly questioned Hoffman about an incident in which he allegedly groped a woman on the set of a TV movie.
Murray called Hoffman “a great man,” and continued, “He’s crazy, a ‘Borscht Belt’ flirt, has been his whole life.” Murray was appearing at the 92nd Street Y interviewing Michael Ovitz, the former agent of both Murray and Hoffman who just released a memoir.
A number of allegations against Hoffman came out last December. Consistent among many of them was Hoffman allegedly harassing and assaulting women on movie sets.
