Bana Alabed, the 7-year-old girl who is known worldwide for tweeting from Aleppo about her experience and flight from war-torn Syria, is releasing a memoir this fall, according to the Guardian.
“I am happy to announce my book will be published by Simon & Schuster. The world must end all the wars now in every part of the world,” Alabed tweeted to her 368,000 followers. In a statement issued through Simon & Schuster, Alabed added:
“I hope my book will make the world do something for the children and people of Syria and bring peace to children all over the world who are living in war.”
Alabed began tweeting about the impact of hunger, airstrikes, and civil war in Syria in September of 2016. She used her account to ask Russian president Vladimir Putin, UK prime minister Theresa May, then-President Barack Obama, and Syrian president Bashar al-Assad to bring peace to her war-ravaged home.
After the girl’s online presence briefly went dark last December, Twitter users launched a #WhereisBana campaign to put pressure on authorities to find the girl. Later, it was revealed she Alabed and her family were rescued from the city. They have since resettled in Turkey.
