From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in LA is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.

This week: Japanese whiskey, short rib and ‘80s video games. Here’s your plan.

Whiskey, Neat

The Japanese are experts at building cameras and trimming little trees, and nowadays, distilling whiskeys to rival the Anglos. For a solid selection, visit Wolf & Crane, a wood-walled tippling temple on 2nd St. in Little Tokyo. You’ll want the Yamazaki 18, neat. She’ll enjoy their specialty cocktails.

Love Me Tender

b.o.s., only a block from Wolf & Crane, braises its bone-in Hunan short rib for 18 hours in chili peppers and spices so that it’s so succulent you can pick it apart with your chopsticks. Also: tender, miso-marinated beef hearts and tripe. This exceptional Japanese nose-to-tail spot will please any carnivore — and it’s pronounced boss, which is how you feel when you leave.

Playing Games

Walk a few blocks to the newly opened EightyTwo, a shrine to the ‘80s mall arcade, where they’ve got 40 fully restored arcade games — from Centipede to Street Fighter — and a full bar to keep you floating fuzzy.
