A few months back in Wisconsin, the owner of a 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 brought his car to Kelly-Moss Road & Race in Fitchburg and acted in a manner that indicated it was Opposite Day.
Specifically, he asked Kelly-Moss Road and Race owner Jeff Stone to make his Porsche into “the antithesis” of what it was and, being the nice guy and dream-car-builder that he is, Stone obliged.
The build that Stone and his team came up with is an off-road-ready beast with custom wheels wrapped with Pirelli tires, modified fenders and panels that give its deluxe suspension room to breathe and a rally-spec handbrake to help its driver rip corners like Vin Diesel on a good day.
To further push the Porsche away from its primmer past, Stone gave the car distinctive aluminum front and rear bumpers that were made in-house, towing shackles and a winch, and a front-mounted light bar outfitted with four HID Hella lights that can be controlled from the one-off ride’s cockpit.
The last touch for the “Safari” car was custom mud flaps and a Martini graphics package. NBD.
While this car is obviously spoken for by the happy-and-lucky owner of what used to be a garden-variety Porsche, Stone and Kelly-Moss will happily discuss your own personal dream car options.
