Of all the things you remember about Jaws (the soundtrack, Quint’s drunken sea shanties, the Great White’s teeth) the watch worn by Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfus) may not be one of ‘em.

For some people though — most notably the horology heads from Worn & Wound — finding out the type of ticker Hooper was wrist-rocking during filming became very important. Finally, after years of DVD viewings and failed eBay purchases, they found out it was an Alsta Nautoscaph.

Unfortunately, the original Alsta dive watch Dreyfus was wearing is sleeping with the fishes, but Huckberry has a remastered version of the Nautoscaph available for a limited time. Restricted to a run of 300 units, the stainless steel watch has a NH35A automatic movement with 24 jewels.

Manufactured in Switzerland and Germany (except for its Seiko-made movement), the Alsta Nautoscaph II has a dark dial and sword-shaped hands and indices painted in Super-LumiNova for underwater visibility. The tidy piece is all packaged in a 40mm case that’s water resistant up to 1,000 feet.

Streamlined, stylish and probably shark-proof, the Alsta Nautoscaph II is being restricted to a run of just 300 timeless tickers priced at $880.
