Dr. Phil Stumps for ‘Doctors Without Last Names’
If you don’t know who Dr. Phil is, you’ve probably never been home with the flu and spent an entire day watching TV. Through his connections with Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil (McGraw) rose to fame in the 1990s, and is now one of America’s most famous psychologists because of his same-named show. His is the No. 1 daytime talk show.
Of late, Dr. Phil’s been getting press for his three-part, exclusive interview with the brother of JonBenet Ramsey, the six-year-old beauty queen, who was brutally murdered in ’96. It remains one of the modern era’s most famous cold cases. CBS is looking to cash in on the popularity of the real-life murder mystery, a la Netflix’s Making a Murderer, with their own docu-series, The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey, premiering Sept. 18.
Given that CBS has The Late Show, it makes sense that Dr. Phil would stop by to plug the interview and drum up interest in the case. But he also showed his lighter side, stumping for a group of which he’s a charter member: “Doctors Without Last Names.” Watch the results below.
