GoPro lends itself to creative vantage points for filming pelicans learning how to fly or rockets blasting into outer space. But this recent live concert guitar-cam stunt is one of the better videos GoPro’s offered, because it’s connected to an actual instrument that a guy is playing—really well, for that matter.
In the below video, a GoPro is attached to the guitar of Jane’s Addiction’s lead axe-man, Dave Navarro. Viewers get a unique and weirdly intimate look at Navarro’s technique; his in-the-moment reactions to the song he’s playing; and ability to concentrate while pyrotechnics, background dancers, and the reactions of a huge crowd compete for his attention.
Through it all, the steady gaze of the GoPro never wavers, and the footage is so smooth and clear that it’s almost like you’re there on stage with him.
