New Balance Teams Up With Slowtide for Beach-Inspired Kicks

Fit for the beach and beyond

The new sneaker from New Balance and Slowtide. The beachy collaboration extends to slides and towels too.
Now these are kicks you can wear to the beach.
New Balance

While your first inclination towards beach shoes might not be sneakers, New Balance’s latest collaboration with California and Hawaii-based towel brand Slowtide proves that even kicks are fit for the seaside. Reworking the low-profile of the AM574 court silhouette, the two brands came together to lend the sneaker indigo-dyed details, vegetable tanned leather, a nautical lace saver and REVlite midsole, details that offer just a hint of beachiness yet make them appropriate enough for non-sandy locales.

For those that can’t bear the thought of subjecting their sneakers to the often lasting annoyance that is sand, the collection extends to more typically beach-appropriate shoes in the form of the 200 Sport Slides featuring a similar indigo pattern as the 574s and a soft, cushioned footbed. And it wouldn’t be a true beach-inspired collaboration without a towel; the Pocket Towel is crafted from 100% sustainably sourced cotton and printed with a rich indigo tie-dye. Suffice to say, you’ll be the envy of whatever beach you find yourself at.
