Are you reading this from your couch right now? Good, stay put. Leave the robe on, too.

According to a study published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, people who smoke weed on a daily basis have sex a good deal more often than those who smoke infrequently or not at all.

Leveraging data from a 50,000-respondent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey, the study found that men who consume marijuana daily have sex 6.9 times a month on average, while female tokers have sex 7.1 times per month. For non-partakers, those numbers fall to 5.6 and 6 times a month, respectively.

Even after adjusting the results to control for variables like alcohol or cocaine use, religion or age, the researchers found the relationship between marijuana use and more sex remained intact. While the research didn’t pin down a cause for the association, the correlation was evident.

“We reported how often they smoke — monthly, weekly or daily — and how many times they’ve had sex in the last month,” said study senior author Dr. Michael Eisenberg, according to NPR. “What we found was compared to never-users, those who reported daily use had about 20 percent more sex. So over the course of a year, they’re having sex maybe 20 more times.”

A related study found they also consume 20 times more Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food than non-smokers.
