Johnson typically applies that phrase inwardly whenever he posts photos or videos of himself going H.A.M. on an obscene amount of calories and carbs on one of his rare cheat days. Now, thanks to a new offering from nationwide food delivery service Goldbelly, interested parties can apply 50-year-old Johnson’s saying to themselves while chowing down on one of his favorite cheat day treats: brioche French toast.
Invented by Johnson and his personal chef Racquel “Chef Rocky” Rockquemore-Breiz during the pandemic and now being cooked at her restaurant Brique French Toastery in Los Angeles after turning into a viral sensation among followers of the wrestler-turned-actor, the caloric culinary creation Johnson craves consists of pieces of five-inch-thick, hand-braided brioche cooked to a perfect golden brown after being dipped in creamy cinnamon-spiced custard. The sweet-and-slightly-savory slices are then topped off with a combo of toppings including peanut butter coconut maple syrup, vanilla bean whipped cream and crunchy oven-toasted coconut chips.
Rockquemore-Breiz has been serving the so-called Rock Toast to locals in LA since opening the restaurant with her husband and received so many requests from foodies across the nation for the decadent dish that she decided a partnership with Goldbelly was the way to go.
“It has been amazing to see what our pandemic creation has turned into,” Rockquemore-Breiz tells InsideHook. “We have customers who eat it for breakfast or with a boozy brunch and others who serve it at afternoon parties or have it for dinner or a late-night snack. Despite the large size, people can inhale this in a minute. Since the bread is soft from being dunked in the cinnamon-spiced custard, it has a super pillowy and fluffy consistency that is so easy to eat. Any time is a good time for Rock Toast.”
As long as you aren’t counting calories…
“Who is counting calories on a cheat meal? It is all about enjoying yourself,” Rockquemore-Breiz says. “This combines all of The Rock’s wildest food dreams. He doesn’t hold back and neither should you. The suggested serving size is one piece of toast per person but I typically make The Rock six-to-nine pieces.”
Should you feel like taking on The Rock’s record, the breakfast dish comes in four-, eight- or 12-packs of French toast with prices ranging from $69.95 to $169.95. (Cardiology appointment not included.)
