Jason Pierre-Paul Is the Fireworks Safety Ranger America Needs

#FireworksHurt, people. Be safe out there.

A year ago this weekend, not one, but two NFL players blew their fingers off in separate firework-related accidents.

One of those players was NY Giants defensive end and former all-pro Jason Pierre-Paul, who had to have two-and-a-half fingers permanently amputated as a result. Luckily, he was able to return (albeit armed with a right hand straight out of Metroid: Prime ) during the latter half of last season to moderate success.

And now he’s America’s new poster boy for firework-safety awareness:

#FireworksHurt, people.

Have a fun — and safe — July 4th weekend.
