This ‘Survival Hammer’ Is Only Just Slightly Terrifying

When you want a walking stick and get a skull crusher

If the only tool you have is a hammer, it’s been said, it’s tempting to look at everything like a nail.

And that’s especially true if the only tool you have is a M48 Kommando Tactical Survival Hammer, equal parts intimidating and rugged.

Designed by United Cutlery (the same company that makes products like the Hibben Master Bushcraft Machete, United Defense Thumper, Honshu Sleek Black Throwing Star), the 37-inch  Survival Hammer is what you want when a garden-variety point-pounder just won’t do.

It also doubles as a walking stick, apparently. From the makers themselves: “The cane handle features a defensive war hammer head and a curved back spike, which offers great applications as an effective breaching tool and defensive hammer in addition to being a fully functional walking cane.”

While the stainless steel tool is definitely unique, most of the scenarios we can envision where you’d actually need to swing the four-pound wrecker are pretty ugly and best to be avoided if possible, but just in case, it’s $92.

Watch your thumb.
