As typically happens during the NFL offseason, a couple of the league’s players are wanted by police after allegedly committing crimes.
Atypically, cornerback DeAndre Baker of the Giants and cornerback Quinton Dunbar of the Seahawks allegedly committed their crimes together, and warrants have been issued for their arrests.
According to Florida police, Baker and Dunbar robbed guests at a cookout while armed with semi-automatic firearms and left with thousands of dollars in cash as well as watches worth tens of thousands of dollars, including an $18,000 Rolex and a Hublot valued at $25,000.
During the alleged incident, Baker flipped over a table and pointed a gun at another guest while people in the house were gambling and playing cards and video games. Dunbar and an unidentified man in a red mask then collected money and valuables from the partygoers.
After the alleged robbery was complete, the three men fled separately in a Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini and BMW that had been “pre-positioned outside the residence in a manner that would facilitate an expedited departure from the residence,” according to the police.
Baker’s warrant is for four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. Dunbar is wanted on four counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
Baker, 22, and 27-year-old Dunbar are both from Miami and, according to one cookout guest, they lost around $70,000 playing in high-stakes card games at a party a few days earlier, TMZ reported. The NFL, Giants and Seahawks are all aware of the incident and are waiting for the legal process to play itself out before taking any action.
