If you need to survive a few nights in the wilderness or the aftermath of an emergency, you’ll want to have a flashlight on hand. VSSL’s electric torch brings the light and pretty much everything else you’ll need.
We’re longtime fans of the company’s survival kits (including one specifically created for a zombie apocalypse). Their newest iteration is a versatile take on the waterproof aluminum flashlight, which on its own provides up to 200 lumens and four different light modes over 20-40 hours.
But it’s also stuffed with 72 “camp essentials” — including a compass, Marine-grade rope, a first aid kit, water purifying tablets, waterproof matches, fishing gear, firestarters, a wire saw and dozens of other useful and potentially life-saving items.
While the VSSL isn’t small (though there is a Camp Supplies Mini option) the tubes weigh less than a pound.
The VSSL Ultimate Camp Essential Kit in black or silver is $105 during the Kickstarter preorders, a savings of 21%. Larger pack options are available (with savings up to 31%). The kits ship in May.
