J.Crew originally introduced its iconic Barn Jacket in 1983, as a way of paying tribute to farmhand workwear with modern trimmings, including corduroy collars and Corozo buttons. In recent years, the brand’s relaunched the jacket in various versions — slimmer, flannel-lined, salmon-red — and it’s still a winner every time.

As part of J.Crew Editions, 125-year-old Barbour “guest-constructed” the Barn Jacket, outfitting it with their own four-once waxed cotton and lining it with their signature tartan. It cuts a smart look, and is a natural layering piece.
