After Carhartt’s ingenious (and seemingly permanent) foray into upmarket streetwear, other high-end brands are getting wise to the trend of repurposing grandpa’s closet.
Now, Munich-based brand A Kind of Guise is showcasing their Autumn/Winter 2017 collection with a … somewhat more distinguished model than one sees everyday. By a few decades or so.
The collection itself includes a Kimono-styled corduroy cardigan, Harris Tweed single-button blazer and striped knit pullovers — fabrics that lend themselves well to casual-sophisticated looks. Wide-leg trousers (including an elastic-waist version — for the holidays?) come in sharp dark stripes, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous.
To cap it off, as no older gent leaves the house without covering his hairless noggin: some off the best knit hats we’ve seen this season. (Emphasis on “some.”)
So when you wear these duds to upcoming holiday shindigs, remember: if you can’t find your beanie at the end of the night, check grandpa’s coat pockets.
