NCAA Division III basketball player Blaise Meredith was able to save two points on Wednesday night, but he wasn’t able to save face … his.

During North Central College’s matchup against Augustana, Meredith attempted to pull off a chase-down block on Chrishawn Orange’s layup attempt.

He was able to get a piece of the shot, but Meredith also slammed his face into the underside of the backboard in the process.

Though he left the game, Meredith was able to return and is okay.

He’s a durable guy as he played in all 28 games for the Cardinals last season, starting 12. Meredith Averaged 16.3 minutes per game and scored 5.3 points per contest.

Unfortunately, the selfless defensive play came in a losing effort as North Central lost 76-59.
