It wasn’t part of the act.

A fan leaped into the ring and tackled wrestling icon Bret “The Hitman” Hart during his WWE Hall of Fame induction speech at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn Saturday night.

The 61-year-old Hart, who has taken far worse punishment in the ring over a storied career, was not harmed and finished his speech honoring his late friend, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.

Neidhart’s daughter, the wrestler Natalya, was standing next to Hart at the time of the attack and was also knocked down in the commotion.

Footage of the assault circulated on social media:

The suspect, a 26-year-old male, was in custody after being subdued by several people in attendance and is facing criminal charges, a law enforcement source told The Associated Press.
