It seems it is time to start spreading the news that former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy wants to be a part of New York, New York.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the only coaching job McCarthy is interested in taking is with the New York Jets.

Other than the Browns, the Jets are the only team that has shown any interest in McCarthy. They likely are interested in him with the hope he could groom quarterback Sam Darnold the same way he did with Aaron Rodgers.

As of now, there are also still jobs open with the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals.

“He’s the safest choice because he has the best résumé by far,” ESPN’s Rich Cimini writes of New York potentially hiring McCarthy. “The former Green Bay Packers coach is interested in only one team, the Jets, although it appears they’re the only team interested in him. The biggest concern with McCarthy is that his offense had become too stale in recent years. Before I’d hire him, I’d need to know how he plans to refresh his philosophy.”

McCarthy does have competition for the gig including former Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase, Baylor coach Matt Rhule, and former Colts and Lions coach Jim Caldwell.
