Raiders Nation may be embroiled in an international incident.
As if Oakland football fans didn’t have enough reasons to be bitter towards their once-beloved Raiders, there is a new report that the team is mulling playing next season in London ahead of its planned 2020 move to Las Vegas.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported on Sunday that, “London is now an option for the Raiders; it’s being discussed for them to play next year.
“They’re still trying to figure it out. Other owners have brought it up to the Raiders, the Raiders are discussing it.”

The team has vowed to move sooner than originally planned after the city of Oakland sued the Raiders earlier this month over the Vegas move. But the planned stadium in Sin City won’t be ready for next season, forcing the Raiders to eye other possibilities, including sharing the 49ers’ stadium in nearby Santa Clara, Calif., or in San Diego, where the Chargers used to play.
Oakland’s loss, however, may be the NFL’s gain, giving the league a chance to test the viability of introducing a more permanent expansion plan to tap the England market. Over the past few years, London has been a successful host of games.
