After earning a $1.25 million salary this year kicking for the Chicago Bears, Cody Parkey is getting a little bit of a bonus courtesy of Philadelphia Eagles fans.
Following Parkey donking a game-winning field goal off the post and the crossbar to give the Birds a 16-15 win in Chicago, Philly fans took to Venmo to show their appreciation by sending the 26-year-old kicker cash.
Feel for Cody Parkey, but the fact that Eagles fans are blowing up his Venmo or someone blessed with the same name is absolutely wild pic.twitter.com/jn3EQZd3Kl

When the unwanted cash began pouring in, Parkey appeared to deactivate his account. That led to some savvy fans creating fake accounts with Parkey’s name to cash in on Philadelphia’s trolling.
Random Eagles fans all started Venmo’ing Cody Parkey money for the missed FG so a ton of people created fake Cody Parkey Venmo accounts trying to get paid by random Eagles fans. pic.twitter.com/ohTvRZsYtd

While Parkey is cashing in on his miss, perhaps Eagles fans should be sending that money to Treyvon Hester, the defensive lineman who got a fingertip on the kick to alter its trajectory just enough to cause the miss.
