Michigan State University administrators didn’t tell federal officials that it was investigating sexual assault allegations against Nassar in 2014, ESPN reports, despite the officials being on campus to scrutinize how the university handled sexual assault allegations.
In fact, ESPN reports, the university asked the feds to scale back oversight because “administrators had been acting in “good faith” and had “gone above and beyond” in meeting standards laid out by federal officials,” Paula Lavigne reports. As of today, MSU administrators still haven’t provided all documents related to allegations made against Nassar to the feds.
The disgraced gymnastics doctor was sentenced this week 40 to 175 years after pleading guilty to 10 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct “with victims as young as 6 years old.”
