After testifying on Capitol Hill before Congress in 2005 during hearings into the use of steroids in baseball, former slugger Jose Canseco is hoping to get back to Washington.
This time however, Canseco – who hit 462 home runs during 17 seasons in the majors – wants to be part of the government, not testifying in front of it.
Canseco (who appeared on Trump’s reality television show Celebrity Apprentice) tweeted that he is interested in taking over the White House position which is being vacated by departing chief of staff John Kelly.
Hey little buddy @realDonaldTrump u need a bash brother for Chief if Staff. Got a secret reorg plan already. Also worried about you looking more like a Twinkie everyday. I will buff you up daily workouts. DM me. #yeswecanseco

Canseco previously took a swing at getting in Trump’s good graces in 2016 when he asked the then-president-elect to consider him for ambassador to Cuba for chairman of the Federal Reserve.
Hey little buddy @realDonaldTrump good pick on bobby for Japan. I would be open to Ambassador of Cuba job or Fed Chair. See u soon

After that, he tweeted asking to take over for Nikki Haley after she announced she was stepping down as U.S. ambassador to the UN.

Canseco may have some skills at relating to different people as he played for seven teams from 1985 to 2001 and was the 1988 AL MVP with Oakland.
