Entering the 13th inning of Tuesday night’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Cody Bellinger’s postseason for the Los Angeles Dodgers had been a dud.

Hitting just 2-for-24 with six strikeouts at the time, Bellinger had just a single RBI. With a swing of the bat, he doubled that number and won the game for the Dodgers in the process.

With Junior Guerra on the mound and teammate Manny Machado on second base with two outs, Bellinger grounded a 3-2 off-speed pitch into right to drive home the winning run and knot the series with the Brewers at two games apiece.

With the 2-1 win, the Dodgers locked up their first extra-inning postseason win in more than 30 years.

“It’s nice seeing results,” Bellinger said. “I’m sticking with the process, but feeling good for most of the series. If I stick to the process they’re going to fall in, and that kind of showed today.”

The game lasted more than five hours and 16 pitchers were used in the contest, meaning both teams may be a bit shorthanded when the series resumes again this afternoon.

Clayton Kershaw will start for the Dodgers and Wade Miley will toe the rubber for the Brewers.
