Dez Bryant is back in the NFL.
Following nine weeks on the sidelines, Bryant has agreed to a one-year contract with the Saints and will officially sign tomorrow when he returns to New Orleans after visiting with the team yesterday.
He should immediately provide help for the team behind top receiver Michael Thomas and could suit up for his new squad as soon as Sunday.
Bryant was released by the Cowboys in April and will actually face off against his old team on Thursday, November 29.
“Dez is a great player,” Dallas coach Jason Garrett said after the signing, per the Dallas Morning News. “Really happy for him and that opportunity. I know he’ll help their team. I love Dez. I wish nothing but the best for him. That’s a great spot for him.”
According to Ian Rappaport, one of the first to report the news, the deal with New Orleans was about more than money for the 30-year-old wide receiver.
Players say all the time it’s not about the money. Dez Bryant turned down a lot of money from the #Ravens, turned down a deal with the #Browns. He was searching for the right fit… and found it with a high-octane playoff team with the #Saints. It all worked out for him.

As Bryant tweeted after the signing was announced, it’s time to #ThrowuptheX – and consider adding him to your fantasy team.
