Former UFC champ Conor McGregor is in the news for stepping into something that wasn’t The Octagon — a New York Police Department precinct.
After being charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony criminal mischief following an incident at the Barclays Center on Thursday, McGregor has turned himself in to police.

The shattered glass McGregor generated with that toss hit the head and face of UFC fighter Michael Chiesa and into the eyes of fighter Ray Borg, resulting in the charges.
As a result, the UFC has had to cancel two bouts involving those fighters, as well as a third involving a member of McGregor’s entourage, Artem Lobov.
On Friday, UFC president Dana White said he was not planning on assisting the most famous UFC fighter in the world with his legal troubles.
“Normally, yes, I would dive right in and do everything in my power to help one of my guys. But not in this situation,” White told ESPN. “He came into the Barclays Center, attacked our fighters and attacked my staff with a bunch of guys. No, you don’t get my help on this one.”
