Real Boxers Joshua or Alvarez Should Be Next Challenger in “Creed” Series

It would benefit the real-life boxers if they took on Michael B. Jordan on the silver screen.

In order to help boost their individual images as well as raise boxing’s dwindling profile with casual fans, real-life fighters Canelo Alvarez or Anthony Joshua should take on Michael B. Jordan in the next Creed film.

At least that is the opinion of Mark Lelinwalla of The Sporting News.

Lelinwalla argues the unified boxing champions both have the looks and the polish to fight on the silver screen and simply need the opportunity to do so.

Were they cast to take on Jordan in Creed III, either Joshua or Alvarez would be able to tap into their full potential in the U.S. and reach an audience who doesn’t tune in on Saturday nights to see them battle in a real-life ring.

“I’ve thought this out, even coming up with plots for Creed III, co-starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, with either AJ or Canelo standing in the opposite corner,” Lelinwalla wrote. “Sly, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. … let’s make this happen for the third installment of the series.”
