On Sunday night, it looked like the season was going to be over for Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers—and, by extension, the Packers—almost before it began.

But the All-Pro was able to shake off a left knee injury he suffered in the first half of Sunday night’s game against the Chicago Bears and return to the field in the third quarter.

The Packers are glad he did, as Rodgers was able to rally Green Bay from a 20–0 deficit by tossing three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to lead his team to a 24–23 win on Sunday Night Football.

The last of the scores was a 75-yard touchdown to receiver Randall Cobb with 2:13 left in the game.

After the game, Rodgers vowed to play next week against the Minnesota Vikings.

“We’re paid to deal with injuries and play through ’em,” Rodgers said. “That’s what everybody is doing and will be doing throughout this season. That’s the measure of a teammate, is what are you willing to put on the line for your team? And to me, it’s a no-brainer. Being out there is special. The ovation from the crowd lifts you up, gives the energy, the momentum of the game, and you feel the tide turning. It’s special.”

The two–time NFL MVP just signed a four-year, $134 million contract extension and, once again, proved that he earned it.
