We Call This “Business Whisky”

Bespoke booze tastings from The Whisky Dog

April 8, 2015 9:00 am EDT

The world of entertaining clients tends to be somewhat of a Groundhog Day: porterhouse, Barolo, palaver, repeat.

Maybe it’s time you changed that up.

Enter Nicholas Pollacchi, proprietor of The Whisky Dog, a bespoke whisky tasting service now accepting clients.

Pollacchi is deep in the amber hooch game: a born-and-bred Scotsman, formerly the global PR director for The Macallan, Highland Park and The Glenrothes. Solid trifecta.

Now he’s a whisky mercenary of sorts, running bespoke dram gatherings for private clients.

TWD can get your group drinking just about any whisky on God’s Green.

Says Pollacchi, “If it’s distilled and matured in oak, I’m talking about it.”

That said, they specialize in the rare and under-the-radar.

You want to get into some ‘69 Glenrothes that goes for seven grand a bottle? No problem. Learn about the Taiwanese single malt tearing up the awards circuit? Sure. Share some Pappy with the fellas? Done.

TWD can come to you, or they’re happy to handle the process tip-to-tail and take care of everything from venue to catering.

And for those looking to continue their education, TWD advises on private whisky investment and hosts their own web shop to pick up a bottle or two of your favorites.

We’ll drink to that.

Nota bene: While TWD’s services are perfect for client entertaining, don’t count them out for other gatherings of the gents — they’ll take care of everything from bachelor outings to b-day soirées.
