Tawdry and wet or sober and dry, fed with grass or stuffed with grain, steak on a plate is the bellwether of gluttonies to come. Ain’t nothing bad about beef.

Let’s celebrate that, with this: The Great Steak Debate, a blind taste test of America’s best purveyors of meat.

Tickets are on sale now.

Where: American Cut in Tribeca. White tablecloths. Jazz-Age decor. Sexy.

Who: Chef Marc Forgione. Michelin Starred. Iron Chef winner. Mohawk.

On hand: succulent strip steaks from the best names in the business. Belcampo of San Francisco. Crystal River of Colorado. D’Artagnan of New Jersey. And more.

Chef Forgione will cook.

And you, dear reader, will taste each steak.

Not to mention enjoy an open bar and seafood towers of Hiramasa tartare, jumbo lump crab and DJB oysters.

At the end of the night, one purveyor will receive the coveted “Golden Brand.”
