Hoverboards that hover instead of just blowing up: Check.

Car that can fly like Marty and Doc’s DeLorean: Check.

Self-lacing sneakers you can buy: Almost.

Nike revealed it will begin selling a version of the self-lacing shoes that Mr. McFly wore in Back to the Future II, deeming yet another of the film’s prognostications for the future true.

Dubbed the Hyperadapt 1.0, the kicks feature adaptive lacing that activates and automatically tightens when the wearer’s heel hits a sensor implanted in the shoe. “There are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen,” says project tech head Tiffany Beers. “You can adjust it until it’s perfect.”

The shoes will be available for purchase in late 2016, but only if you’re signed up for the new Nike+ app.

BTTFII’s clairvoyance didn’t see that one coming.
