Follow Suit

Except for bad breath and a disdain for your cheeseburger fetish, most people don’t expect too much from vegans.

So nobody was expecting this: immaculately tailored suits, now shipping from the kindly non-dairy vegetarian behind Brave Gentleman.

Founded by Joshua Katcher, a handsome jack of all trades — sculptor, filmmaker, style blogger, MTV director — BG crafts animal-friendly, cruelty-free custom suits.

No sweatshop labor. No environmentally unfriendly practices.

But yes, designed in New York, and yes, crafted from luxury French, Italian, and Japanese fabrics like organic cottons and breathable rPETs.

“You like wool?” Katcher says. “You’ll only miss the itchiness and smell.”

The suits, with a slim, European-style fit, come in five styles, all named after male archetypes — ”Covert,” “Watchdog,” etc. — all of which are customizable and made-to-measure (either send in your measurements or, if you’re in NYC, visit ’em in person).

Pre-order now, and the suits will be ready to ship by February/March.

Don’t need suits? BG also offers a line of chinos, ties, outerwear, and a gorgeous line of faux-leather shoes and heritage work boots, all operating under the same sartorial ethos.

Which is: it feels good to do good.

No bean curd required.
