Gear Itself

We’re three months removed from New Year’s resolutions. How’s that waistline?

Actually, forget we asked. But in the interest of ensuring your pants actually fit come summer — and look good, to boot — we humbly recommend you gussy yourself thusly:

Introducing Athletic Recon, a stylishly technical line just released by Paul Frank founder Ryan Hauser.

Hauser sold Paul Frank in 2010 and started running marathons. Like three a year. So of course he designed performance wear perfect for the gym – or for brunch when you want to look like you just came from the gym.

Here’s what you’ll want to grab:

Poly-blended, jersey-soft t-shirts

Done in distressed colors with modernistic military logos, these tees have different weights so you can pair with the climate.

Renegade performance top

Sleeveless (for increased range of movement) and reflective (for increased chance of not getting hit by a car).

Renegade shorts

Four-way stretch gives maximum movement and a flattering fit. Two sizes: gym-dweller or marathoner.

So that’s what you wear to the LA Marathon this weekend. You’ll be the most dashing dasher of the bunch. Or the brunch.
