From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in L.A. is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your itinerary to a damn good time.

Lunch

With a day of beer drinking and football watching ahead, you’d be well advised to lay down a base of flavorful Vietnamese at the new Little Sister in DTLA. If you haven’t been to Chef Tin Vuong’s Manhattan Beach location, now’s your chance. He serves his sesame sourdough baguette served with French Echire AOC butter and sea salt, and it comes out piping hot. Get some umami-packed shaky shaky beef and a cold cut banh mi for the table. Order yourself a bowl of noodles in a savory broth with coconut braised pork and a quail egg.

Beers and Games

The Seven Grand guys just opened a 15-barrel brewpub capable of filling 3,000 barrels a year in a massive space in the Arts District. Arts District Brewing Co is the area’s newest full time brew pub. With 10 vintage skeeball machines, ping pong, giant jenga, cornhole, darts and TVs aplenty, it’s also our city’s most active. They’re projecting the playoffs in a larger-than-life format on the wall. Rye beers, a saison, a porter: all these tasty brews contain more than 6% alcohol. With that much boozing, it helps to have some food to blot out the buzz. Good thing gourmet hotdog maker Fritzi Dog has a window in the back where you can get all-natural hotdogs, burgers and rotisserie chicken wings.

Afterwards

If you’re still feeling frisky, mosey over to Tony’s Saloon, a dive bar that’s also a member of the Seven Grand empire. If you’ve never been, the decor’s no frills, but they still serve mixologized drinks, which after a day of beer drinking are about the only thing we can stomach. The Rehearsal Space is a kicked-up whiskey ginger with bitters and lemon. It’s a no-brainer.
