A couple months ago, we told you about a claustrophia-inducing $90k death pod that claimed to have solved relaxation.
This is basically the opposite of that.
The Zen Float Tank, currently funding on Kickstarter, is a personal flotation pod constructed from the same inflatable material used in stand up paddleboards. It kind of looks like a shark fin-shaped parade float.
Resting within those walls is nearly a foot of water, warmed to 93.5°F and saturated with 800 lbs. of Epsom salt. That mixture triggers a sense of weightlessness, and ideally, a total mental detox on your end. A detox that, for our money, ought to be aided by the pitched ceiling and 4-foot x 8-foot pool, a design scheme decidely larger and less nausea-inducing than some of the existing models on the market.
And thanks to the tank’s blend of portability and affordability, you can have one in your basement, garage or — why not? — front and center in the living room for just $2,905 during early-bird pricing (it will retail for $3,500).
