Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.
Or, how a 31-year-old Ferris Bueller quote might explain Captr, the world’s best (first?) “smartphone jacket.”
Captr is a water-resistant bomber or activewear jacket that features a dedicated interior pocket for mounting your smartphone so that its phone camera is directly behind a gorilla glass lens. Pair it with any streaming app and voila, your jacket is now a bodycam.
Designed for shooting outdoor activity sans the bulk of a GoPro, the jackets look innocuous enough. Which might be Captr’s one drawback — the subtle design of the jacket means you could capture a lot of footage surreptitiously, even more so than the late Google Glass.
So privacy (of the unwitting people you are recording) might be an issue.
That said, if you use Captr as intended, the jacket could provide with an easy new way to capture some sick moves for just $89. Both styles of the jacket include a portable battery charger and charging cable, as well as a custom phone case that’ll mount the smartphone/camera inside your jacket.
Captr is available now on Kickstarter, with delivery scheduled for December.
